Interaction Design Experts Taobao

Hanwei Liu is the interaction design expert in Taobao UED. She joined Alibaba Group in 2012 and have been involved a lot of the product design for Taobao website and Taobao App. She has also played an important role in the promotion design of the double 11th and double 12th sale and accumulated rich design experience in basic platform products and merchandising products. She has an eye for business goals; she’s proficient at organizing the analysis data and amazing at pushing for product landing together with other teams.

Background information

With the arrival of new retail, the business context is experiencing earth shaking changes. All companies are exploring the new business model, of which Hema, Kuaishan, Tmall Convinience Store, Taoxianda are the most noticeable. However, traditional design thinking can’t provide a good experience for such context anymore. Thus, a new service design with full journey, multi-roles and full touch points become the new solution. In this workshop, I will share how to leverage design to empower new retail business, how to unify the design across the whole journey, as well as the strategy and method as to how to change traditional users.

Introduce Alibaba’s new retail businesses and their features 

Share the new demand of sellers and users in new retail, the offline store model and the pain points

Taoxianda case study (how traditional supermarket should upgrade)

Workshop practice (How to convert offline users online)
