Nanjing, referred to as "Ning", is called Jinling or Jiankang in ancient time. It is the capital and the provincial metropolitan city center of of Jiangsu Province. Nanjing is located in the eastern part of China and the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It’s also close to rivers and the East Sea. The city has 11 districts, with a total area of 6597 square kilometers. Nanjing is one of China's four ancient capitals, and is among the first batch of national historical and cultural city. It is an important birthplace of Chinese civilization, and has protected China's unification, and is the political, economic and cultural center in South China.
